It is beyond doubt that there are plenty of non-English speaking people across the entire Web3 ecosystem, who want to benefit from various opportunities that blockchain technology has to offer, however are not able to do so only because they do not speak English. Since adoption is a primary target for all projects, protocols, and alike built on blockchain, we must overcome the accessibility problem for good.
Successful completion of the project will enable the following:
- People from several parts of the world will be able to use the protocol for staking ETH in confidence, regardless of their native language.
- Rocket Pool will remarkably extend its outreach, which will also strengthen the protocol’s promise of decentralization.
- By increasing its outreach, Rocket Pool will be able to provide benefits not only to the protocol itself, but also to the Web3 ecosystem at-large.

=== Team ===
Who is doing the work?
All stages of the project will be completed by a team of experienced translators who have already been providing translation services under the roof of BanklessDAO to various DAOs and protocols as well as the BanklessDAO itself. While the entire team involves translators providing services in about 15 different languages, this project’s team will consist of translators of 5 languages only, including Spanish, Hindi, Romanian, Turkish and Portuguese. The languages that are not covered by this project are always open to future consideration.
What is the background of the person(s) doing the work? What experience do they have with such projects in the past?
The team is composed of people who have already been providing translation services under the roof of BanklessDAO to various DAOs and protocols as well as the BanklessDAO itself. The team has completed several projects with a proven history of success. Past clients include PolygonDAO, Index Coop, Yearn, Ethereum Foundation, and JuiceboxDAO.
The team consists of highly knowledgeable translators (mostly tech-nerds and web3 natives) who have been helping their non-tech peers with their technical questions and issues, as well as some professional translators (with extensive IRL and Web3 localization experience) who have been continuously improving the translation workflow and ensuring quality assurance in all projects undertaken by the team to date.
What is the breakdown of the proposed work, in terms of milestones and/or deadlines?
The work will be completed in three stages defined as follows:
- Kickoff and Test Stage: This first stage will last for 2 days following initiation of the project, and result in delivery of the output specified in the below question for the Rocketpool team to test the quality and accuracy of translation.
- Translation Stage: This stage will last for 7 to 10 days (TBD upon agreement), and include the entire translation process for the promised languages. The translation task will be completed on Crowdin or a similar CAT (Computer Assisted Translation) tool (if requested) to ensure a high level of accuracy and consistency in addition to an easier follow-up of the project flow.
- Review Stage: This last stage will last for 3 to 5 days (TBD upon agreement), and include proofreading and/or reviewing tasks to be conducted on translated files. The review task will be completed on Crowdin or a similar CAT (Computer Assisted Translation) tool (if requested) to ensure a high level of accuracy and consistency in addition to an easier follow-up of the project flow. Translators who are assigned as reviewers for this stage cannot be the same team members who completed the translation stage for the relevant document.
*** How is the work being tested? Is testing included in the schedule?**
The Rocket Pool team may test the work once translation/review of the first part called ‘Introduction’ is completed for the promised languages. Said part includes 265 words, which would be ready for testing in 2 days following the initiation of the project. This test would also serve as an opportunity for the Rocket Pool team to provide feedback to be used as a guide for the remaining project.
*** How will the work be maintained after delivery?**
Any updates to the translated content (addition of new text and/or modification of the existing text) will be communicated to the BanklessDAO translation team, and a new agreement will be drafted by the team based on the new data provided (number of words, languages, any specific requests, etc.). The draft will be submitted for Rocket Pool’s review, and finalized upon their approval for both parties to agree on the new specifications for the required maintenance work.

How much RPL and over what period of time is the applicant requesting?** - The proposed work covers translation of the ‘Introduction’ part under ‘Overview’ section of Rocket Pool documentation website. The part in question covers approximately 7700 words.
- Proposed price for 1 language:
- $0.1 per word x 7700 words = $770
- Total price: $770 x Number of languages (max 5 for this draft, open to further requests by the Rocket Pool team)
- The payment is expected to be settled after the tasks agreed by the parties are completed AND accepted by the GMC.
*** How will the GMC verify that the work’s deliveries match the proposed cadence?** - The scope of work covers translation and review of the specified documents. Upon delivery of finalized documents, the GMC would need to find external reviewers to check the quality of the work done.

- What alternatives or options have been considered in order to save costs for the proposed project?
- The number of translated languages has been limited to a maximum of five for the purposes of both cost reduction and quality assessment. However, the translation team is open to discussion of any further requests.
- Translation method (PMTE - post machine translation editing) is considered for cost reduction.
