January 2023 GMC Call for Retrospective Award Applications - Deadline is January 15th

Retrospective Award Application for Rocketscan

Retrospective Award

Who is the proposed retrospective award recipient?

It is me. My address is rocketscan.eth.

What specific project or work is the retrospective award in recognition of?

Rocketscan is a Rocket Pool explorer. It’s like Etherscan but for Rocket Pool.

It was launched on December 31, 2021 and has been continuously updated ever since. You can see how it evolved over time in the changelog. I’ve spent the last months working on several features (like attestation performance, alternative treegen implementation, Atlas support) that are not live yet and not in the changelog.

I’ve also footed the hosting bill which is €110 (~$120) per month.

Are the subjects of this award entirely open source?

It is not open source.

Some components (like the contracts library, my treegen implementation, beacon indexer) will be open sourced under the Apache 2.0 license.

Conflict of Interest

Does the person or persons requesting the retrospective award have any conflicts of interest to disclose?

I was sponsoring Invis’s node for rocketwatch for a few months, he’s a member of the GMC.

rocketscan.eth has received a 200 RPL donation from poap.eth and a 300 RPL donation from a community multisig also funded by poap.eth via superphiz.eth (Ken is a GMC member and a signer of this multisig). There have been a bunch of smaller donations in RPL and ETH as well.

I am a Rocket Scientist.
