Round 6 - GMC Call for Bounty Applications - Deadline is November 11

RP ScoreCard

What is the nature of the proposed bounty?

  • Score ourselves similarly to https://lido.fi/scorecard.
  • This should hit our high points well (eg, governance), and also be very clear about the rough parts that we know we need work on (eg, oDAO trust needed).
  • Note who is affected by each risk - risks won’t hit NOs and rETH the same.

Ideally this would get a front-row seat in the rocket pool website. The bounty should not depend on that however, and a pull request to docs.rocketpool.net or a suitable alternative should suffice.

Must the results of this project be entirely open source (MIT, GPL, Apache, CC BY license or similar)? If not, which parts will not be, why, and under what license will they be published?

Must allow the output to be used and built upon. Attribution and share-alike style requirements are ok.

Benefits - enter N/A where appropriate

Group Benefits
Potential rETH holders A better understanding of the protocol and potential risks to both the overall protocol and rETH specifically.
rETH holders Ditto
Potential NOs A better understanding of the protocol and potential risks to both the overall protocol and NOs specifically.
NOs Ditto
Community Transparency lets us answer questions more effectively, and something like this shows we’re realistic about where we are and serious about progress.
RPL holders Insofar as the token is linked to success of the groups above :person_shrugging:

What other non-RPL protocols, DAOs, projects, or individuals, would stand to benefit from the bounty being successfully completed?

None really?

Will the results of the completed bounty be open source?

Yes; required.

Work and Verification

What steps would be entailed in completing the bounty? Do successful examples of such work exist elsewhere?

  • Milestone 1: A working example of the web page
  • Milestone 2: Reviewed by the community for at least 2 weeks, with at least 2 significant community reviews being written up
  • Milestone 3: Integrating feedback and publishing

How long is the proposed bounty available for? Is it awarded to the first team to successfully claim it, or is it in some way divided among all such successful claims in the proposed availability period?

  • Milestone 1: to first to publish
  • Milestone 2: split between all reviewers in the 2 week period; the GMC may subjectively determine the split based on review quality
  • Milestone 3: same recipient as milestone 1 if done within a month of milestone 2 completion. If not done in that time frame, anyone may publish and it’s first to publish.

Who will test any products submitted for claiming the bounty?

This should be a user-viewable web page. Milestone 2 provides for review and the GMC should take a glance at it to check that it looks effective.

What is the acceptance criteria for awarding of the bounty?

GMC approval on each milestone

Payment

How much USD $ is the applicant requesting for successful completion of the bounty?

  • Milestone 1: $5,000-$10,000 based on quality. If it’s similar to the Lido example (nearly complete; easy to read and digest), target is $9k. UX is an acceptable reason to reject a submission.
Milestone 2: $3,000 pot to be split amongst reviewers.
    Milestone 3: $2,000

Conflict of Interest

Does the person or persons proposing the bounty have any conflicts of interest to disclose? (Please disclose here if you are a member of the GMC or if any member of the GMC would benefit directly financially from the successful completion of the bounty).

No

Will the applicant, or any protocol or project in which the applicant has a vested interest (other than Rocket Pool), benefit financially if the bounty is successfully completed?

No
