# RPIP-57: Node Distributor User Fund Unbundling

This is the official discussion thread for [Draft RPIP: Node Distributor User Fund Unbundling](https://github.com/rocket-pool/RPIPs/pull/196/files). Some prior discussion has taken place on [Discord](https://discord.com/channels/405159462932971535/1242157769453469876). This RPIP is targeted at the next smart contract upgrade (Saturn 1).

This RPIP is about the node distributor (also known as fee distributor), the place where execution layer rewards go for people not in the smoothing pool. Currently anyone can distribute those rewards, but the node operator can block others from doing so, similarly to the [Houston Bug](https://dao.rocketpool.net/t/rewards-tree-spec-v10/2937/22), which is getting fixed. This RPIP aims to apply the same solution here.

I’d love to get useful feedback. No sentiment poll for now to allow for pDAO input first.
