RPIP-86: Saturn 2 Upgrade

Glad to see the governance decisions of Sat 2 moving forward.

Voting on them is important, even if the vote is negative, right? How else will we go forward?

I’ll probably vote to keep the bond at 4ETH, if my delegate didn’t already do that. I could be convinced to let it raise to 6ETH though, just not lower.

I’m sorry, what?

We’re voting on if we should include RPIP-85.

We’re voting on if we should include RPIP-83.

But we can’t vote to not include RPIP-71? That is forced on us and I have to vote against the full Saturn 2 instead?

What currently is going on here, people just pushing RPIP-71 no matter what, is absolute bullshit! If we’re voting on how to do RPIP-71 then one option should also be to not implement it.

I don’t know what happened with Rocket Pool. I once though “RP is great because you can choose if you want to switch to the new delegate. And you can vote on every change. And the people make good decisions.”

But now I find myself here and realize that seemingly none of these things are true anymore. I get forced into things.

I own RPL which is advertised as: “Staked RPL remains vote-eligible, giving node operators a say in protocol decisions.” But apparently the powers that be don’t think that throwing out performant NOs needs a separate vote? Even though this one guy Darkmessage has made it clear how angry it makes him? Ha, stupid me thought that maybe the protocol is fair and democratic. But, turns out, it’s as broken and scheming as normal politics…

This thread and the polls were for figuring this out and you had more than a month to express your opinion how we should structure the votes. You had over a month. You didn’t vote. You didn’t say anything. Why wait until now?

I didn’t say anything?

I was the first to respond to the RPIP-71 thread on May 23rd here. I then once again said that I fully oppose RPIP-71 6 days ago in this thread here.

It should be obvious that we vote on RPIPs that are even slightly contentious. I shouldn’t have to disagree with an RPIP in thousand different threads, the main RPIP thread should be enough.

So you can’t tell me that you didn’t know opposition exists. You just wanted to ignore it.

I added one more sentiment poll to vote on inclusion of RPIP-71, this one also runs for 7 days, so 24 hours longer than the first three.

The sentiment poll is necessary to start the rocketdash vote. If you are interested in progressing the Saturn 2 voting process, please vote for “support moving to vote”. You can then express your opinion on inclusion in the actual rocketdash vote.
