Thanks to the diligent work of @activescott smartnode 1.12 added the alerts/notifications feature, and currently only supports discord notifications.

Under the hood, we use alertmanager, which supports many more channels. Please vote for the ones you are likely to use in this poll so we can prioritize the order in which we add and test them.

Additionally, how important is it to you that you are able to route specific alerts to one or more channels (e.g. uptime alerts to Pagerduty, Proposal Notifications to Email, Critically Low Disk Space to Pagerduty AND Email.)

For me to form an opinion, I would need to know how this differs from Grafana notifications.

Is it just for ease of use if people don’t wanna customize their Grafana? Or how would I as a Grafana alert user profit from any of this?

There’s a bunch of predefined alerts that make this more ergonomic than grafana alerting:
