Following discussion with Samus and internal discussion within the GMC, the committee has chosen to cancel the grant.
This decision was not a reflection of a lack of interest or good faith from the contributor. Rather, it reflects a combination of factors:
-
Changes in contributor capacity that limit their ability to actively drive the work
-
Lower momentum and engagement around the initiative
-
Significant uncertainty introduced by Saturn and other protocol changes
-
Current treasury constraints that make discretionary grants difficult to justify
Under present conditions, the committee felt that formally closing the grant was preferable to allowing it to linger in a low-momentum state. Importantly, this preserves the work completed so far and keeps open the option to revisit or re-scope similar efforts in the future if priorities and funding improve.
The GMC would like to thank @samus for their transparency, effort, and engagement, and we appreciate the pDAO’s understanding as we continue to prioritize sustainability and core protocol needs.
