Given langers rejecting even temporary team ownership and the desire to act expediently, I think we’re down to a vote on fees. I’m working with @SSJ2_Spartan on a draft RPIP and hopefully we can have one up today.

I think the poll from the top of this post is currently meeting the “promising community sentiment” bar for these bridge fees, so we’re mostly gated by our ability to move the RPIP to Final, make vote text, and get the snapshot vote started.

Important heads up
I learned that CCIP need an answer in the next few days, which isn’t enough time for normal governance.
My suggestion is below, and I’ll start to act on it now. Obviously, yell loudly if you hate it.From the forum poll, it looks like most people are in favor of a fee.
I’m going to do the flashpoll we talked about for a fee amount here following this message and xpost it aggressively for a day.
We will move forward with CCIP using the median value that comes out of that.There will then be a follow-up snapshot vote to either ratify the fees (if it passes) or remove the fees (if it fails).
I’ll rewrite the RPIP to reflect that.
This will mean there’s a few days of the fee existing at a “best-guess” level that hasn’t gone through full governance, which I think is the best available choice.

Feedback on the ratification version of the RPIP has been positive thus far in the discord governance channel. @langers is checking that Chainlink are comfortable with this process for sending fees periodically. Assuming Chainlink are ready, I’ll move to get this RPIP finalized about a day from now.
4/16 update: talking is happening but might need to give chainlink a couple days to get an answer
