To guide you in your application, the GMC has established the following goals and the following scoring rubric:

GMC Goals

Grants, bounties, and retrospective awards should make it easier and/or more attractive to do one or more of the following:

  • become a node operator

  • operate a node, mint rETH

  • hold or use rETH

  • improve the quality of life for the protocol and its community.

Retrospective Award Rubric

To what extent did the proposed and completed project further the GMC goals?

Note: if the project is ongoing, the retrospective award is given for work completed prior to the current award period, with any future awards for the same project expected to compete in the Grants category and as a separate application.

## Costs

### How much USD $ is the applicant requesting be awarded to the recipient?

## Conflict of Interest

### Does the person or persons requesting the retrospective award have any conflicts of interest to disclose? (Please disclose here if you are a member of the GMC or if you have nominated a member of the GMC for this retrospective award).

Please Note - Treasury Situation:
During this time of treasury distress, the GMC would like to reiterate its strong preference for grants over retroactive awards—especially for development work. Pre-approval is important and appropriate for development features. Grant applications should be scoped in advance to ensure alignment and accountability.

Name of Retrospective Award

LLC Compensation for GMC Members

Who is the proposed retrospective award recipient?

ShfRyn, Dr Doofus, and Sckuzzle

What specific project or work is the retrospective award in recognition of? Please detail what the project or work entailed and the duration over which it took place.

The above GMC stakeholders formed LLCs in order to perform their duties to the GMC. This retro is intended to partially compensate them for their increased time and administrative costs in relation to running an LLC. Typically this includes:

Attorney consult and retaining costs
Formation, registered agent, and filing costs
Various filings with associated fees, includes tax documents and a CPA

This retro will cover the the 2024 slate of GMC members (https://vote.rocketpool.net/#/proposal/0x19712eaf0f9f46fb03fd37bce4bba99e273643648cc4ca9ecd03aff27e9f4419)

Are the subjects of this award entirely open source (MIT, GPL, Apache, CC BY license or similar)? If not, which parts will not be, why, and under what license will they be published?

No

Benefit

Without forming LLCs, the GMC would find it more difficult to procure and retain competent members, and would likely be under the cap right now. A functioning GMC is crucial for Rocket Pool’s continued growth and development - which benefits all stakeholders.

Costs

How much USD $ is the applicant requesting be awarded to the recipient?

Each of the above members for $2k each, for a total of $6k.

Conflict of Interest

Does the person or persons requesting the retrospective award have any conflicts of interest to disclose? (Please disclose here if you are a member of the GMC or if you have nominated a member of the GMC for this retrospective award).

Yes. All recipients are either GMC members or the administrator.

Name of Retrospective Award

Node and Minipool Analytics + Dune Spellbook

Who is the proposed retrospective award recipient?

@titey

What specific project or work is the retrospective award in recognition of? Please detail what the project or work entailed and the duration over which it took place.

Over the past six months (from November 2024 to May 2025), I completed a data infrastructure and analytics project for the Rocket Pool community, focused on improving visibility into Node Operators and Minipools. This work is the basis for my retrospective grant application.

Key components of the project include:

  • Dashboard Development: I created a Dune Analytics dashboard under the rp_community account to surface key metrics and insights surrounding Node Operators and Minipools.

  • Reusable Datasets: I built scalable, modular datasets designed to support future Rocket Pool protocol upgrades and new features for node operators. These datasets enable other contributors to build additional analytics without starting from scratch.

  • Open Source Contribution: All dataset code was published to the rp_community GitHub repository for transparency and community use:
    GitHub - rp_community validator datasets

  • Documentation: I wrote a Medium article explaining how the datasets were constructed, the methodology behind them, and how they can be used by the community.

  • Integration with Dune Spellbook: I collaborated with the Dune Analytics team to integrate these datasets into the Dune Spellbook. This makes them available as native tables, improving query performance and discoverability, while also laying the groundwork for future dataset expansion.

This project significantly enhances transparency and tooling for Rocket Pool Node Operators, and provides a sustainable foundation for ongoing analytics development by the community.

Are the subjects of this award entirely open source (MIT, GPL, Apache, CC BY license or similar)? If not, which parts will not be, why, and under what license will they be published?

Yes

Benefit

The analytics and datasets created as part of this project serve multiple stakeholders in the Rocket Pool ecosystem. By increasing transparency and providing actionable insights, this work helps grow trust, engagement, and understanding across the community:

Group Benefits
Potential rETH holders Analytics highlight demand for rETH by showing minipool queue length and deposit needs.
rETH holders Analytics demonstrate decentralization among node operators and validate Rocket Pool’s unique value proposition versus other LSTs.
Potential Node Operators (NOs) Analytics build trust in the protocol by providing transparency into existing node operator behavior.
Node Operators (NOs) Analytics help operators benchmark their performance and operations against peers.
Community Analytics support informed discussion about protocol health and the impact of upgrades or changes.
RPL holders Analytics show RPL staking utilization relative to circulating supply, helping assess token utility.

Costs

$4,500

This amount reflects a contribution similar in scope and effort to my previous work, with a strong focus on generating long-term value for the Rocket Pool ecosystem. In addition to developing reusable datasets and a comprehensive analytics dashboard, this work includes integration into the Dune Spellbook—a foundational step that encourages further community contributions to analytics.

By enabling native access to key metrics and improving dataset performance, this effort supports more informed decision-making for both community members and protocol leaders.

Conflict of Interest

Does the person or persons requesting the retrospective award have any conflicts of interest to disclose? (Please disclose here if you are a member of the GMC or if you have nominated a member of the GMC for this retrospective award).

No

Notice: This message marks the closing of the twenty fourth (24) round of Rocket Pool retrospective award applications. Any applications submitted after this will not be considered for this round. The GMC will announce the award recipients in a new thread here on the forums around May 25th. The community will then have two weeks to issue any challenges before funds are disbursed. Thank you to all who applied and thank you to everyone who has followed along. Anyone who would like to comment on existing applications is encouraged to do so in this thread.
