Round 32 (December 7 - January 7) Grants / Bounties Retrospective Awards Results

The GMC has concluded discussions and scoring for the Round 32 (December 7 - January 7) Grants/Bounties/RA Award Round.

This post also begins the fourteen-day clock during which, according to RPIP-15, “[a]nyone MAY file an RPIP disputing a grant, bounty, or retrospective award within two weeks of the announcement of recipients. Such an RPIP SHALL be subject to a snapshot vote.” Any awards not subject to such a challenge will become official on February 6, 2026 at 23:59 UTC.

General Updates
  • Community POAP Campaign - There is currently a four week community outreach campaign going where the community is rewarded POAPs and potential rewards for their contributions. The GMC highly encourages everyone from the community to participate and help inform the broader Ethereum community about Saturn 1.
  • Marketing Campaigns - The Bankless campaign is expected to run from February 8–21, while the Defiant campaign appears to be on a longer timeline.
  • Snapshot Grant Expiry - The snapshot funding grant was used for all three months. The GMC has requested from the Rocket Pool team a plan on how to handle funding moving forward.

Detailed Award Results

Name: Rescue Node Renewal
Proposer: Patches
Type: Grant
Subcommittee: All
Link to Application: Round 32 - GMC Call for Grant Applications - Deadline is January 7 - #2 by Patches
Decision: Approve
Awarded Funding: $4,125
Requested Funding: $4,125
Score: 5
Comments: The GMC has approved the Rescue Node Renewal for $4,125 over 6 months.

The Rescue Node is a core Rocket Pool service and one of the protocol’s key reliability features. It is frequently used, supports rETH APR stability, and helps protect the protocol from adverse conditions. The request covers core service and hardware costs only and is considered essential infrastructure rather than discretionary spend.

Ken abstained due to minor involvement in maintenance; however, the majority of operational responsibility lies with other maintainers, and the service remains broadly relied upon by the network.

Name: Rocket Pool App Redesign
Proposer: SLY71
Type: Grant
Subcommittee: All
Link to Application: Round 32 - GMC Call for Grant Applications - Deadline is January 7 - #3 by SLY71
Decision: Decline
Requested Funding: 4,500 RPL
Score: 1.5
Comments: The GMC has declined the proposal for a Rocket Pool App UI/UX Redesign submitted by SLY71, requesting 4,500 RPL.

While the committee agrees that UI/UX improvements can be valuable in principle, this proposal is not a priority in the current context. The Rocket Pool App interface is not viewed as a significant friction point, is generally regarded as clean and functional relative to comparable Web3 applications, and has been revamped recently.

Additionally, similar work is typically handled by the core team, and there is an expectation that further UI-related changes may already be planned alongside upcoming Saturn-related work. Given current funding constraints, the committee does not believe this request represents a necessary or efficient use of treasury funds at this time.

Member Participation

Ken abstained from the Rescue Node Renewal application due to minor involvement in maintenance.

Final Voting Stages

No members chose to reject the entire slate.

IMPORTANT
Based on the current value of the treasury, the committee will be extremely selective with the applications they approve in the near future. The GMC recommends only submitting applications that are of highest priority or could be considered an “emergency”.
