Detailed Award Results
Name: Chainlink Oracle
Proposer: Langers
Type: Grant
Subcommittee: All
Link to Application: Round 36 - GMC Call for Grant Applications - Deadline is May 7 - #3 by langers
Decision: Approve
Awarded Funding: $18,000
Requested Funding: $18,000
Score: 3.9
Comments: The GMC has approved $18,000 in funding to support the Chainlink oracle for a one-year period.
The committee recognizes the Chainlink oracle as critical infrastructure for rETH. Market Price NAV feeds are essential for maintaining existing DeFi integrations and preserving future opportunities for rETH adoption. Members noted that Chainlink remains the industry standard for this service, and maintaining oracle availability provides meaningful value to both rETH holders and the broader ecosystem.
The committee also noted that the GMC is not bearing the full cost of the service. The oracle expense is being co-funded by other ecosystem participants, reducing the financial burden on the GMC while ensuring continued access to this important infrastructure.
At the same time, the committee expressed concerns regarding the long-term sustainability of this expense. Given the GMC’s limited resources and the absence of guarantees around future RPL prices, members emphasized the importance of continuing to evaluate costs and explore opportunities to reduce or eventually sunset this expenditure if it is no longer justified by usage and ecosystem value.
Despite these concerns, the committee concluded that maintaining the oracle is currently an appropriate and worthwhile use of GMC funds and approved one year of funding.
Name: Saturn 2 Work
Proposer: knoshua
Type: Retro
Subcommittee: All
Link to Application: Round 36 - GMC Call for Retrospective Applications - Deadline is May 7 - #2 by knoshua
Decision: Approve
Awarded Funding: $5,000
Requested Funding: $5,000
Score: 4.7
Comments: The GMC has approved a $5,000 retrospective award for Saturn 2-related work completed by knoshua.
The committee considers Saturn 2 development to be among the highest-priority initiatives for the future of Rocket Pool. Members highlighted the importance of the research, design work, coordination, and ongoing iteration that have helped define and accelerate the Saturn 2 effort. The committee also recognized the significant time and effort required to drive this work forward and the value it has provided to the protocol’s long-term development.
The GMC notes that this award is not additional funding beyond what has already been allocated to Saturn 2. The committee has previously awarded $50,000 for Saturn 2 work, and this retrospective payment will be deducted from that total allocation. As additional contributors and deliverables are reviewed, future awards related to Saturn 2 will be considered against the remaining balance of the approved budget.
While members acknowledged the GMC’s current financial constraints and the need to balance Saturn 2 compensation against other valuable contributions across the ecosystem, the committee concluded that this work warrants recognition and compensation.
Name: Support Payments #7
Proposer: haloooloolo
Type: Bounty
Subcommittee: All
Link to Application: Round 36 - GMC Call for Bounty Applications - Deadline is May 7 - #2 by haloooloolo
Decision: Approve at Custom Amount
Awarded Funding: $7,500 (three months)
Requested Funding: $2,000 (one month)
Score: 4.4
Comments: The GMC has approved $2,000 in funding for one month of community support services.
The committee continues to view high-quality support as an important service for Rocket Pool node operators and the broader ecosystem. Members noted that responsive support helps maintain operator performance, reduces friction for new and existing participants, and provides value that extends beyond the number of support interactions recorded in a given period.
During deliberations, concerns were raised regarding the GMC’s current financial position, declining support activity levels, and whether the existing payout formula continues to appropriately reflect the value being delivered. As a result, an amendment was approved to reduce the award term from three months to one month. This approach allows support services to continue uninterrupted while providing the committee additional time to evaluate and potentially revise the support compensation framework.
The GMC intends to announce the qualification requirements for this one-month period separately and will use the upcoming month to assess potential changes to the payout formula before considering future renewals.
Name: rETH Reporting
Proposer: Kodelab
Type: Grant
Subcommittee: All
Link to Application: Round 36 - GMC Call for Grant Applications - Deadline is May 7 - #2 by InstoConnect
Decision: Decline
Requested Funding: $100,000
Score: 0.9
Comments: The GMC has decided to decline funding for this proposal. Committee members found the proposal difficult to evaluate due to a lack of clarity around its scope and objectives, and there was limited interest in pursuing the work at this time. Given current priorities and funding constraints, the committee was not convinced the proposal warranted an award.
Member Participation
Steely abstained from the Support bounty application due to his conflict of interest.
Final Voting Stages
During the final stages there were two amendments voted on:
Amendment A — Award RA362601 (Saturn 2 Work) Over Three Months
- Failed (1 Approve, 6 Reject)
The original decision remains unchanged.
Amendment B — Fund BA362601 (Support) at $2,000 (1 Month)
- Passed (6 Approve, 0 Reject, 1 Abstain)
BA362601 has been amended from a $6,000 approval to a $2,000 one-month award, after which the committee may reevaluate support funding and the revised payout formula.

IMPORTANT
Based on the current value of the treasury, the committee will be extremely selective with the applications they approve in the near future. The GMC recommends only submitting applications that are of highest priority or could be considered an “emergency”.
