Ok so from the above discussion so far:
Inclusions
The following scope are proposed for inclusion in Saturn 2.
| RPIP | Title | Rationale |
|---|---|---|
| RPIP-44 | Forced Exits | Enables node operator withdrawal address to exit validators and the protocol to exit validators when the megapool has significant debt/penalties |
| RPIP-46 | Universal Adjustable Revenue Split (inflation change) | Decrease RPL token inflation by discontinuing RPL reward distributions to node operators |
| RPIP-71 | rETH Withdrawal Liquidity via EIP-7002 | Makes rETH withdrawals more reliable, strengthening peg stability. |
| RPIP-73 | rETH Protection From Underperforming Nodes | Identifies and exits underperforming validators, protecting rETH returns. |
| TBD | pDAO Settings guardrail changes | Reviewing guardrails for appropriate values |
Further discussion needed
| Item | Description | Todo |
|---|---|---|
| Commission Review | Overall rETH rate, node operator commission, voter share, and pDAO share. If we decide to increase pDAO share, there is work to allow it to be spendable by the pDAO. | Discussion on values |
| Meta-voting | Onchain voting system changes to migrate off Snapshot | This wasn’t mentioned in the discussion but has been discussed before. Should it be included? |
| RPIP-46 | Inflation changes | Discussion on timeline for inflation reduction and directing RPL inflation to DAO for X intervals |
| Faster withdrawal credential exploit check | To avoid double queue time | Research discussion has started. Review validator queue length over time. |
Deferred
The following RPIPs are valuable but are proposed for deferral so that Saturn 2 stays focused on rETH demand. They remain on the roadmap for a future release.
| RPIP | Title | Reason for Deferral |
|---|---|---|
| RPIP-42 | Bond Curves (1.5 ETH + pDAO param) | Lowers the capital barrier for node operators, increasing validator supply and improving rETH capacity. |
| RPIP-45 | RPL Burn | Important for RPL tokenomics, but not directly tied to the rETH demand priority identified by the community. |
| RPIP-50 | RPL Buy & LP | Same rationale — better served by dedicated focus in a subsequent release. |
