Hey everyone!
We’ve been hard at work on Saturn 1 and making good progress. We’re excited to share our indicative timeline with you, which includes the usual software delivery caveats - it’s an estimate rather than a guarantee. Each milestone will be completed as soon as possible, without compromising on quality.
Our devnet releases will be semi-public, inviting active participation from testing enthusiasts while keeping the community engaged and informed. The dates shown indicate when we expect each release.
We have every confidence in delivering Saturn and can’t wait to bring this program to life.
Please let me know if you have any feedback, questions, or concerns.

I think the way you plan on breaking up Saturn 1 into these milestones makes a lot of sense and your initial estimates for delivering them seems sensible.
I am wondering about the penultimate “testnet” phase: It sounds like this will be the first time auditors are taking a look at the upgrade. Based on past releases, I’m also assuming that we’ll see at least two independent firms doing an audit. If that’s the case, the estimated time for this phase seems quite tight to me. Just looking at Redstone, Atlas and Houston, this phase appears to have taken ~3-6 months in the past. Is there reason to believe that the Saturn process will be faster? Could it make sense to bring in auditors at an earlier stage already?
Thanks for giving us this update!

The audit time is between devnet-4 release and before testnet. I have actually allocated 5-6 weeks for audit, which I agree is extremely tight. Although I don’t think it will take 3-6 months…
Much of the slow down is doing audits sequentially but this does have advantages. We have explored starting the auditors earlier and in this case it makes perfect sense - as there is a lot of scope and we are progressively testing.
I believe we will look to get 3 auditors again. So we could have two start earlier, say devnet-3 and then a final auditor between devnet-4 and testnet. I will bounce it off the auditors to see what works for them.
