Saturn 1 - Timeline

Hey everyone!

Just a quick update on Saturn 1 delivery progress.

Devnet Testing

Devnet-3 is nearly complete and scheduled for release this week.

Devnet-3 includes:

Devnet-3 is a great opportunity for the community to jump into testing. Devnet-3 includes the majority of Saturn 1’s functionality (excluding the reward tree). For those who took part in devnet-2, please note that this is a completely fresh testnet, so re-registration is required.

To get started, download the v1.17.0-dev release and connect to the devnet network. We’d really appreciate any feedback you have — please share it in the dedicated devnet thread.

Audits

Our audit partners for Saturn 1 are now confirmed. These highly regarded teams will help ensure the robustness of the release:

  • Sigma Prime
  • BailSec
  • Spearbit / Cantina

We’re confident in their experience and thoroughness.

Timeline

With the audit teams confirmed, we’re now able to outline a rough timeline for the mainnet launch:

  • Devnet-4 is scheduled to roll out over the next two weeks
  • Audits will begin next week, starting 14th July
  • Audit work is expected to wrap up in early October
  • Following that, we’ll deploy to testnet and release the audit reports
  • oDAO governance will commence mid-October
  • Mainnet launch is currently targeted for 29th October

As you can see, the audit process is extensive. Given the scale of Saturn — and the fact that it impacts nearly every part of Rocket Pool — the audits are expected to take 6–8 weeks. We explored several ways to optimise audits and shorten the timeline, but the nature of thorough auditing meant it simply wasn’t feasible.

Saturn has been a massive undertaking for both the team and the community. We’re incredibly excited about the capabilities it unlocks and the strong future it sets up for Rocket Pool.

Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.
