Token Motion - Design Idea Submission

In Round 20, the GMC approved (GA182405) Token Motion Design Subscription.

Through this partnership, Rocket Pool will collaborate with Token Motion to produce high-quality design elements for the protocol. These designs will support business initiatives, marketing campaigns, advertising, and more.

The GMC will now collect design requests from multiple sources: within the committee, from the team, from Token Motion, and most importantly, from YOU, the community.

We welcome your innovative and high-quality ideas!

Note: All design requests are subject to GMC approval.

Title: rETH and RPL token relationship

Description: A logo/concept explaining how rETH and RPL come together to form Rocket Pool.

rETH and RPL are the Yin and Yang of decentralised staking. Together they form Rocket Pool.

rETH is the token that represents staking yield coming from the most Ethereum aligned decentralised node operator set on the network.

RPL is the token that represents investment into ongoing maintenance and development of the protocol that enables rETH.

Part of the yield from rETH is redirected into RPL to help the protocol fund itself, while it also remains open to external investment.

Priority: Indication of urgency or importance (e.g., High, Medium, Low).

Any

Launch Date: Deadline for when the design should be ready.

Whenever. Maybe around Saturn 1 launch amongst that material.

Audience: Target audience for the content (e.g., Node Operators, General Community).

New potential community members. Eg new investors into rETH and/or RPL.

Design Notes: Additional notes or ideas for the design (e.g., color scheme, theme, etc.).

Explain (visually if possible, but also with text) the value proposition of each token and how they support each other.

Check the Saturn tokenomics RPIPs to understand exactly how rETH supports RPL value via fee capture.

Consider also the relationship between ETH and Ethereum.

Saturn 1 RPL Fee Capture Infographic

Description: Detailed description of the design request.
Infographic with a one-liner that explains the fee capture mechanism for RPL in Saturn 1. Intent is to begin advertising this fee capture mechanism ahead of Saturn 1 launch and clearly answer the constant bombardment of “what is RPL for now that it’s not required for minipools?”
Infographic should include a theoretical high level calculation showing staking rewards with and without RPL staked (i.e. this is just to drive home that staked RPL equals higher ETH rewards starting with Saturn 1).

Not specified - should be designed with flexibility in mind to be tailored for various platforms.

Keep it simple. Infographic should be understandable within seconds of reading the content.

Title: Roadmap Landing Page
Description: Create a website landing page that adds interactivity to the current team roadmap. Create illustrations and graphics for each stage along with descriptions for each roadmap item.
Priority: High. We’re losing shareholders. We need materials to remind everyone of all the things to come.
Requested By: ShfRyn.
Type of Content: Web Design Mockup(s)
Platform / Where to Launch: Official RP website
Dimensions / Size: Use the same as previous RP mockups. Nick will handle integration, so defer to his preference.
Launch Date: ASAP.
Audience: Current node operators. Potential RPL holders and node operators.
Design Notes: I would focus on UX and interactivity, as we currently lack materials that make our complex protocol easy to follow. A strong interactive design could engage visitors, encouraging them to explore and learn more about Saturn 1 and Rocket Pool’s future.

Title: Pitch Deck Materials
Description: rETH is a highly secure LST with deep liquidity and a robust ecosystem that enables additional yield opportunities. Its high level of decentralization is reflected in the following aspects:

  • Technical Decentralization – rETH has the most decentralized architecture among LSTs.
  • Governance Decentralization – Node operators can participate in governance and vote on protocol decisions.
  • Decentralized Token Distribution – Governance tokens are distributed to node operators, contributing to Ethereum’s staking decentralization.

As the preferred LST for security-conscious institutions, rETH is integrated with top DeFi protocols, offering a wide range of use cases and additional yield opportunities.

Rocket Pool: The Secure Choice

Infographic should highlight and compare key measures such as slashing risk, levels of permissioned / permissionless operators, levels of centralized / decentralized operators, and levels of censorship and governance attack resistance.

Title: rETH Success Story
Description: rETH has been trusted by AAVE, ENS DAO, and other protocols as a treasury ETH staking option. ENS DAO has even set a 20% cap on any single LST, calling on other Ethereum ecosystem protocols to follow suit. By staking their treasury ETH, these protocols can contribute to decentralization, and Rocket Pool is ready to support them in this effort.

Title:
Rocket Pool DAO Decentralization
Description:
Distribution of vote power in the DAO is a key strength of Rocket Pool. I’d like to see some simple infographics that show how vote power is distributed (e.g. influence of biggest voters and how much is needed to hit quorum) and how quadratic voting helps give small holders a voice.

Title: RP logo and emoji
Description: A pet peeve of mine is that folks say RPL when they mean RP, or use the RPL token emoji to celebrate something like a big rETH mint. I would love to have something that means “Rocket Pool” rather than just “RPL” or “rETH”. In my ideal world, this gets used for website logo, favicons, discord :rocketpool: emoji, partners putting RP in their tweets, etc. Ultimately, this probably has to get team support so my suggestion would be to spend effort on ideation over polish and put out a set of 3-5 ideas for the community and team to opine on.

This is what uni shows for the rETH/RPL pool. This isn’t a good idea, but thought I’d include it as the only combination I’m aware of.
