Per RPIP-10: pDAO Budget Allocation, this thread will be live at least 5 days. I’ll aim go through the weekend, so a bit more than that.
Anyone can nominate anyone, including themselves
Anyone can remove themselves from consideration simply by saying so
On 6/23, there will be a “this thread is closed” comment, and the final list will then be generated
If you are nominated and don’t remove yourself from consideration, please read the “Nominee information sharing” section of RPIP-10 so you can be ready to provide your statements.
Remember that vacancies that occur get filled by going down the list from previous selections. This means more nominations are definitely good - including well past “can field a full committee”.
I would like to nominate myself for the IMC. I enjoy working on behalf of RP and have been serving on the GMC for a while now. I would enjoy taking on new responsibilities on the IMC and learning how to be an effective member of the team.
I made a summary sheet for current IMC members. It’s based off the stipend “hour” metrics, which have Transaction (posting, reviewing, signing), discord discussion, and “Role” subsections.
Although Valdorff has already nominated me, I would also like to nominate myself. Since 2021, I have been active in the RP community and have always wished for Rocket Pool’s success. I am eager to contribute in any way I can to help Rocket Pool succeed, and participating in IMC activities is one such way. As a holder of a significant amount of RPL, I have a strong vested interest in Rocket Pool’s success, and I would love to witness that success alongside the great people I’ve come to know through years of community involvement. I want to contribute as much as I can, even if it’s just in a small role.
Hi all – I’m a day later to closing this thread than intended.
That said…
We currently have 7 nominees: valdorff, samus, deukey, drworm, waqwaqattack, haloooloolo, destroyaaa.
The incentives management committee has had 9 members so far. Technically, RPIP-20 doesn’t specify a number, and RPIP-10 only specifies some minimums for all management committees (3 of 5). I’m a unsure if the best next step is to try recruiting harder, or go for a smaller committee. Would love some thoughts before progressing here.
I appreciate the nomination, but I’m removing myself from consideration to help avoid any risks of centralization. I’m still happy to support the IMC however I can—whether through facilitation or graphic design work.
I do think we should probably temp check the target size before we go to full vote.
Nominees: per RPIP-10 you have 3 days from when the list of nominees was posted to provide your info below
Nominees: please provide the info requested in RPIP-10 in this thread. Please structure as “Alignment statement, conflict statement, identity statement, contribution statement, additional information". Examples can be found in the previous IMC nomination thread.
I believe in the vision of Ethereum as a decentralized platform that enables anyone to build and use applications that run on a global network of nodes. I think that Ethereum has the potential to transform many aspects of society.
I also think that Rocketpool is very aligned with the ethos and values of Ethereum. I support Rocketpool’s mission to make staking accessible, secure, and fair for everyone.
Conflict Statement
I do not have any conflicts of interest that would affect my role as an IMC member. I do not work for or have any affiliation with any other project or organization that is related to or competes with Rocketpool. I am currently on the GMC and am a NodeSet Node operator as well.
Identity Statement
I am a 33 year old software engineer in the US. I work a 9-5 but I have enough time to dedicate a few hours a week to this position.
I have been a node operator with Rocketpool since a few months after it went live.
I have been following Rocketpool’s development since before it went live and have been impressed by the talent it has attracted.
I am not working in the cryptocurrency industry. I have met many people from the Rocketpool community and other Ethereum communities at ETH Denver.
I keep up with the news around ETH and Rocketpool via Rocketfuel, being involved on the GMC, and the Rocketpool discord. Despite the rough market we have been in for a while and low morale, I still believe we are doing great work here.
Contribution Statement
I have been serving on the GMC for more than a year, participating in meetings, signing and creating transactions, discussing grants, and getting involved in various initiatives like STAR.
I enjoy working on the GMC for Rocketpool and am interesting to learn how I can help on the IMC side in DeFi.
The main value proposition I see in crypto is the potential to disrupt intermediaries and provide sovereignty to individuals where the only requirement to participate is an internet connection. I think Ethereum aspires to be a logical implementation of that vision, where Rocket Pool can extend participation in the system to a wider set of individuals. I became a Node Operator for Rocket Pool in 2022, and since then the RPL/ETH in minipools has become a significant investment for me.
Conflict Statement
I don’t have any conflicts of interest. I prefer to be deeply involved in a single community (Rocket Pool) over shallow involvement in several. I don’t have any meaningful crypto exposure to anything else besides ETH/RPL.
Identity Statement
I’m in my late-20s and work as an Electrical Engineer in the semiconductor industry. I was able to meet several folks in person at Eth Denver last year where I helped present on Saturn tokenomics changes.
Contribution Statement
I have a curiosity for emerging technologies, which led me to electrical engineering and more recently crypto/ethereum/rocket pool. I have enjoyed becoming more involved in Rocket Pool this past year and half, especially with the opportunity to assist with tokenomics changes/proposals. This past year on the IMC I took over the treasurer role, and the regular weekly/bi-weekly transaction postings. I enjoy getting to learn about the mechanics of different protocols and having tasks associated with that helps the learning process.
Thanks for the nomination, but I would like to remove myself from consideration. My capacity for serving on committees is currently too low to give the IMC what it deserves.
